Thus FTPP selectively kills fat cells by shrinking the blood vessels that feed adipocytes with nutrients. The fat cells deprived of nutrients undergo apoptosis – programmed death, which eventually leads to absorption of cells’ remnants by nearby tissues. This process significantly decreases the amount of subcutaneous fat, thus causing weight loss.
